History of FDNA & Jubilee Park Stadium

Established in 1966, Frankston District Netball Association has been at the heart of the local community for more than 60 years. What began as a small grassroots competition has grown into one of Victoria’s largest netball associations, providing opportunities for players, coaches, umpires, volunteers and families across generations.

FDNA found its home at Jubilee Park in 1977, marking the start of significant growth. Since then, the association has expanded its competitions and facilities, including the opening of its first indoor stadium in 1993. The original indoor stadium was supported by contributions from Frankston District Netball Association, reflecting the commitment of its members to growing the sport and creating a home for netball in the community.

The facility created new opportunities for growth, allowing FDNA to expand its operations, develop a professional workforce and continue building on the strong foundation created by its volunteers.

In 2023, the $34.9 million Jubilee Park Indoor Stadium redevelopment created a modern community sporting hub, providing a world-class home for FDNA and the Peninsula Waves while supporting grassroots participation, elite pathways and major events.

As well as providing world-class facilities for netball, the stadium has expanded opportunities for the wider community through hospitality, events and additional sports, while creating new local employment opportunities and supporting the association’s continued growth. The Jubilee Park Stadium redevelopment was also supported by contributions from FDNA, continuing the association’s commitment to investing in facilities for future generations.

Today, FDNA welcomes thousands of members each year, offering opportunities for players of all ages and abilities to participate, develop and thrive. As FDNA continues to grow, it remains committed to honouring its proud history while inspiring future generations to connect, compete and thrive through netball.
