FDNA SQUAD

The FDNA Representative Squad Program provides talented athletes with the opportunity to represent Frankston & District Netball Association against other associations across Victoria, while supporting their development both on & off the court.

Representative players in our 11&U, 13&U, 15&U & 17&U age groups are selected through a rigorous three-week trial process. 11&U, 13&U & 15&U players are selected from the FDNA Saturday Junior Competition, while 17&U athletes may also compete in the Saturday competition but must meet separate eligibility criteria to trial for the FDNA Representative Squad Program. Following selection, athletes train with their appointed coaches before teams are finalised prior to the Christmas break. Changes may occur during the first six weeks of competition to ensure all teams are best placed for the season.

Our 13&U, 15&U & 17&U Diamonds & Opals teams compete at the Central East Zone Qualifying Tournament, with the opportunity to progress to the Netball Victoria Association Championships. Athletes in the 15&U & 17&U divisions are also eligible to be Talent Identified (TID), providing a pathway into the Central East Zone Academy & potentially the Netball Victoria State Program.

FDNA is committed to providing a positive, challenging & supportive environment where athletes can develop their skills, confidence & love of the game. Our representative coaches hold a minimum Foundation Coaching Accreditation through the Netball Australia Coach Accreditation Framework & are encouraged to continue progressing their qualifications to ensure our athletes receive the highest standard of coaching throughout their representative journey
